Abby
I am so happy to say that Abby is still with us today. I didn't think she would be. P. told me on Sunday to be prepared for the worst. I knew I should have been but I wasn't ready to let her go. I never will be. And some day I will have to go through this all over again and it will be just as terrible. No, it will be worse, because someday we will lose her and I don't know what I will do. It brings me to tears to write about it and lets just say there were a lot of tears this week over our darn dog. In actuality, there is nothing darned about our dog. She is a huge part of our life, our family and our happiness. She is our friend, our companion, our protection and our comfort. Having Abby around is a joy for all of us.
Abby got sick on Saturday. She wasn't eating, was breathing really hard and would not lay down for longer than a few seconds. Saturday night she went into the kids room while they were sleeping and said her "goodbyes". I knew we were going to lose her that night. Sunday I took her to the Vet and they checked everything and did a bunch of bloodwork. Over the past few days all of her results have come back negative and the only thing that needs work is her thyroid. Since Sunday she has slowly improved and tonight I got to bed at peace knowing she had a really good day and is almost back to her normal self. She is eating, resting easily, not breathing hard anymore and is at our feet or with us all the time, just like she used to be. I just have to say, thank you Lord!

Stuff
Wed night the kiddos and I went out to dinner and ice cream then did some shopping. There are a lot of hard things about taking 2 kids out for the evening on your own but it was a good time and we enjoyed our "splurges".
Friday we met some friends at the mall for some shopping and play time. 
I made some cupcakes on Friday for our friends Brad and Kendra who just had a baby. I made separate, not as pretty, ones for the kids and they gobbled them up.
Jamie likes to eat with her hands and as messy as she possibly can. Pete doesn't like to get messy so ate his cupcake with a fork in a bowl.
The other cupcakes we took to our friends. Not bad, not bad.... :)
And have I mentioned we love our church? Love it. We moved Jamie into the 2 year olds class and when I went to pick her up she saw me and said, "No go!" She loved it so much she wanted to stay. Now that doesn't happen much, especially when it's mommy as the other choice. We played in the big grassy area after and when we finally left church Pete cried all the way to the car because he didn't want to go home. Isn't it every parents wish that their children love going to church? 
So here we are at another week. New things to do and places to explore. Bring it on!
