Week
It's been a busy week! Monday night I went to the gym and met with a trainer. I explained to her my frustrations and my limitations with my recent back pain and we laid out a new plan. See below.
We went to MOPS on Tuesday and it was great. Just fun mom time together trying to learn to be the best moms that we can be. Pete and Jamie did great in childcare and I got to have a yummy breakfast, meet some new friends and learn a few new tidbits from other moms about their mommying ways. Each week we will have breakfast, then have a speaker or do a craft, then break up into our discussion groups for more personal time together talking and praying. I am really excited about this new part of my life. Like the bible study I joined last year, I find myself saying the same thing, I should have joined years ago.
Wed. my bible study started up again and I have a whole new group. We are studying Colossians. I don't have to take the kids to that because P. is home on Wednesdays now. It's really an all me morning!
I have been to the gym a couple of times and changed up my strategy. All cardio. And I hate cardio. But I think it is the only way I am going to lose weight. And so far, it has worked! Started last week at 164. Today, 162.5. Yup, the numbers actually went down! I am encouraged to do more and am looking forward to seeing what the scale has in store for me next week!
I am back at physical therapy for my neck and back. Just trying to make my days a little more manageable and comfortable. So far I think it is working this time but when they want to see you twice a week it will be hard to keep up.
I got my haircut this week too. My attempts at growing it out have finally given in to the fact that I always just put it back in a ponytail anyway. So, it's shoulder length again and I like it. I didn't even tell P. I as going to do it. Just came home and it was all gone. No pictures of me to post. Maybe I will try to get one. It's time I got a good pic with the kids anyway.
And tomorrow is another busy day. For lunch we are going down to P.'s work. Every year they golf during the morning and then have a lunch for the staff with a bunch of prizes. We went last year when Jamie was just 6 or so weeks old. Boy how time flies. And it was there we met our wonderful friend "Onnie" who is now a huge part of our life and our hearts. Tomorrow night we are having some friends over for dinner. I won't even go into our plans for Saturday but I am sure I will post about it soon after!
To end, a couple pictures of my handsome boy. :) I gave him a backpack to take to MOPS on Tuesday with his diapers (doesn't really need them anymore), extra change of clothes, socks, sippy cup and any toys he wanted to bring. He was so excited about his backpack.
And here he has just put his shoes on all by himself. On the right feet and everything (by chance). I couldn't believe it. Just a glimpse into life getting a little easier someday for me. And this week he wass able to climb into his car seat in the van all by himself so while I am putting Jamie in, he is getting himself in. I still need to finish buckling him in but really half is done by the time I get there. And it saves my back one extra lift for the day! And he is getting better at going pee pee by himself though it isn't always the cleanest job. I am so proud of my big boy.

Playtime
Life is full of play around here these days. Pete and Jamie play together and more and more I see how good of friends they will be as they grow up. But I can see how they will drive each other crazy too. Pete wants what Jamie has, Jamie wants to sit where Pete is, Pete want wants to sit on mom's lap, Jamie fights him for the seat, Jamie takes all of Pete's food and drink, you get the point. The other day P. and I drove to the park separately, I had Jamie, P. had Pete. Jamie cried the whole way there. Didn't cry before that, hasn't cried after that. Only when her brother wasn't there next to her.
Here are some pictures of recent play. Fun times. Wouldn't trade them for the world.
Pete and his block tower. Jamie knocked it over of course.
Jumping on the bed. Look at that air!
Watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse together while sharing some Fruit Loops. They wait anxiously for the Hot Dog song and dance and sing together.
Pete trying to convince his sister to come down so he can sit there by staring into her eyes and saying, "Get down Idee".
Went to a birthday party at Playworld on Saturday. The kids had a good time and when we left to get them home for afternoon naps Pete said, "Stay here mama." But then he couldn't keep his eyes open on the way home.
Fighting over a car at Playworld.
More Mickey. Having juice together. Answer to a lot of fighting=two of the same item. For example here, two cups of juice.
Pete's Duplo block world. He fits each block onto the Lego table and fills it all up, corner to corner. Jamie tears it all down. She was sleeping while Pete created this masterpiece.
Jamie in a doll stroller, dad pushing, Pete running beside. Funniest thing in the whole world for both kids. Then Pete's turn in the stroller. Yes, fun. No, probably not very safe.
In the kitchen cabinet after emptying it out.
Boys with pacifiers.
Life is fun. Life is busy, but life is so much fun. And now my sweet, silly little girl is awake. Adios!

Football
Football season started this last week. Yes, I am excited but it's not like other years. We both know it is going to be hard for us to find time to watch the games and we don't like having the TV on all day with the kids and how distracting it is to them. But, P. figured out how to watch the games I care about. Those being the Niner games. It involves downloading some application on the laptop, finding the site, and projecting it onto the TV through some new cords. And it worked. Niner game on my TV in MI. Too bad they got blown away by the Seahawks. I can't even get myself to write the score on here. But...it was fun to watch and when it got really bad I couldn't watch it anyway. Here is our set up. Not bad, except for my laptop gets really hot and Jamie plays with the laptop and cords constantly.
