Girl Stuff

My friend Kari and I went to the Sunshine Church MOPS Consignment Sale today and I bought a few girl things. It was hard to choose from all the cute outfits we saw. Tomorrow everything is half off, I might go back..... :)

Here is what I found. It was so fun to buy pink! Can't wait to meet our little angel.

Silly Boy

Pete is in love with this shower. He could play in there for hours. It's so funny. I go in to check on him and he gives me this cheesy smile like, yup, I am still in here mom. I took these pictures today. I laugh when I look at them.

P. and I are having a girl! A sweet little baby girl! I think I am still in shock. I have pretty much felt we are having a girl since the first few weeks but it's confirmed now and I think it is going to take a while for it to feel real. My life has been boy for a long time now and it's going to be weird to switch gears. Exciting but totally different.

P. stayed home from work today to be with us. We had a nice slow morning and were off to the appointment with the same butterflies and excitement when we did this over a year ago. Our little girl had her legs crossed for most of the ultrasound so we waited in anticipation for the news. Hoping it would happen but honestly so thankful to just know she was healthy and growing well. Her heart is beating strong and she had lots of energy. The technician found all her major parts and measured her right on schedule. It estimated her at 10oz, just a teeny, tiny little girl. We were able to see her in 3D but the technician did warn us at this age they look pretty scary. She was right. Our girl was a skinny little skeleton but it was still fun to see her in that way. So, things look good and we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our next sweet baby.

Here are some pictures we took before and after the ultrasound. I only had to drink 16 oz this time instead of 32. Much easier on the bladder. Proud mommy. I cry like a baby during these. Tears of joy. My beautiful family. I couldn't ask for anything more. All done and ready to pee, and eat! Ok, I promise a belly picture this weekend! Off to bed, it's been a long, exciting day. Go pink!

Happy Birthday to Us!

We are on the second of 3 birthdays today. There are two weeks and a day between mine and P.'s b-day and exactly two weeks from today is Pete's first birthday. It will be 4 weeks of a lot fun and a lot of cake.

Yesterday we went out to eat and I made a cake. See pictures. I was very proud of my cake. Triple chocolate, vanilla frosting and vanilla pudding in the middle. Yum.Today we dropped Pete off at a friend's and went for a bike ride. I had a great idea to go on a ride and eat a packed lunch on the trail but it ended up being a lot colder than I planned. We rode a good ways before it got too cold and my butt hurt too much. We ate our lunch in the van and headed back to get Pete. It was a great time, despite the weather.
