Our Days

Fall has been wonderful. The weather is beautiful and we have been able to still be outside pretty much as often as we would like. And "we like", a lot! These fun days playing outside in October make me dread winter even more. What are we going to do with ourselves?????

I should just be thankful that it isn't snowing yet I guess.



Oh and these are not outside, just the kids having fun.
Yes, Pete is also in this picture, his back is under Jamie's head, arm under her hands. And yes, my closet is very messy.

Twins?

People ask us all the time if Pete and Jamie are twins. This is why....

Jamie

Jamie=sweet and sugary, adorable, delightful, precious, lovable, and undeniable and I am totally smitten with her.
Jamie also=feisty, gutsy, strong-willed, determined, temperamental, spirited, and opinionated and though it makes for some trying times I love her for being herself. How different is she than her brother? Let me count the ways. Different doesn't always mean worse though. I used to wonder how I would love another child as much as I loved Pete. I don't wonder anymore.

Pumpkins

Went to a local pumpkin patch today to grab a few for the kids. Another great time, great day, great kids, great pictures. All around great!

Artprize

Our city has this neat thing called Artprize and we got the courage up to take the kids downtown to check it out. I am glad we did. It was a beautiful night and we all had a great time looking at some pretty amazing art. We didn't see as much as I would have liked but for having the kids along and a giant double stroller I think we did pretty well. The kids did great and now that I look at my pictures that I have a lot more pictures of them than the art. My favorite piece of art was this picture of Grand Rapids made with hundreds of thousands of little balls. See below. Pete loved this piece that played music that you could feel when you sat on the seat, hear the song and see the lights flashing to the music above you.

Taking a break on a bench.Carousel ride. Jamie LOVED it. Can you tell?Pete had a good time too and we plan to take him back downtown in the next week or two to ride it again.The last piece we saw, a wooden piece with a mans face and different animals carved into it. Very, very cool.
