Let it Snow

Yup, let it snow, go ahead! I can handle one month of a MI winter, just not six!

Jamie liked the snow for about 5 minutes. I carried her in a blanket for another 45 minutes while Pete played in it and loved every minute.And here are my babies helping me make a carrot cake last night.

Updates

Some things I never posted about over the last couple of months:

1. Jamie's Monilethrix- Jamie has inherited an autosomal dominant disorder of the hair from her father called Monilethrix. Monilethrix is characterized by breakage of the hair and varying degrees of alopecia. You can't tell from pictures that she has this since the area where her hair doesn't grow is smack dab in the middle of the back of her head. At first I was sick to my stomach for a few days when we discovered she had it. I worried about how she would look, if she would be teased, how she would deal with it and what we could do about it. Then I thought, if this is all my child has to suffer from I am truly blessed. She will be fine, and she will deal with this just fine. We will always tell her she is beautiful and her hair is beautiful no matter what. 2. The San Francisco Giants won the World Series! Yes, I know you probably already know this but how cool is that???? I fully enjoyed this year's World Series and am so excited that my choice of favorite teams has been so successful. Go Giants! Go Lakers. Go Niners. Ok, maybe the 49ers haven't been successful lately but boy have they been in the past.3. Weight loss. As of today I have gained a couple pounds since starting my weight loss plan back at the beginning of July. I canceled my gym membership and plan to enjoy my holiday eating and will concentrate on losing a few pounds when I get to AZ. :) It was too hard to get the kids to the gym with me a couple times a week. And when I did take them they would get sick from all the kids in the childcare area. I didn't go on weekends because I just wanted to spend time at home with P. and the kids. And I didn't enjoy doing cardio anymore on the same bike, treadmill and elliptical. Here is the most recent picture taken of just me. Jackets don't help cover much when you gain most of your weight in your cheeks!4. About a month ago I had a whole weekend off. P. took the kids up to his parents house while he went hunting and I stayed home. Yes, I worried about not being with the kids for a whole two days but in the end they did great, I had an amazing weekend with my friends and doing stuff around the house and we were all so excited to see each other in the end. So glad I took advantage of the opportunity. Thanks Omi and Opa! Here is a pic of P. and his nephew heading out to hunt that weekend. 5. Arizona-And last but not least we are moving to AZ at the end of December! After moving to MI 5 years ago this month to be close to my step-daughter and then to have her move away again we are finally headed back out west where we want to be. It has been a long road and we are so happy to be headed somewhere warmer, sunnier and closer to my family and friends in CA. P. found a great job at a hospital out there and we are headed to Phoenix to look for houses soon. So what will I do now with mymichiganlife.blogspot.com? Keep it the same but post a lot of pictures in tank tops and flip flops instead of hats and jackets!

My Promise

I promised to post more this week. And I have some really great pictures to share so it is easy to do!

A lazy morning watching TV together yesterday. A trip to Meijer for peanut butter, the kids favorite food. We ran out the night before and Pete bugged me to go to the store for more all morning until I gave in. Plus it got us out of the house.

Rainy day fun today. I brought the umbrella stroller in from the van and we pushed each other around for an hour. Good exercise for all of us.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to my blog friends and family. I am so sorry I haven't been posting much lately. Things have been so crazy busy and the kids schedules these days don't offer much alone time anymore. And when I do have alone time there is just so much to get done.
