So, Jamie is 11 weeks old. She is a beautiful happy little girl. She cries so much less than she used to. It's like she figured out her family, home and schedule and has settled into them all very nicely. She is a joy and she brings tears of joy to my eyes a few times a day. Pete is 18 months old and starting his "next stage". I don't want to call it the "terrible two's" because he is no way terrible. But he is starting to test limits, push buttons, and get hyper. Yesterday he got three time-outs for hitting. The dog and his sister are his targets and it takes all of my attention to make sure neither is seriously hurt. My next challenge is to figure out how to deal with the hitting, throwing, running and yelling without doing them back to him as his punishment. I placed a call to my best friend this morning to get some advise. We will see what she says. But he is also learning some really sweet things too. He gives lots of hugs with tight squeezes and wet sloppy kisses. He can also be really sweet with his sister and loves to look at her, snuggle his head into her and kiss her.
We had a nice weekend with my in-laws and appreciate them taking the time to come see us for a couple of days. We ate out at some nice restaurants, did some shopping and carved pumpkins. We spent time at the house and they were able to hang out with the kids and help us out with them. Halloween is coming up and I am still not sure what the kids are going to be. I have a few options and will try on some different ideas on Pete after his nap today. Jamie gets to wear Pete's from last year. Poor kid. Always gets the leftovers.....
