RETURN BABY PETE_ NO QUESTIONS asked--mom and dad
Pete and I had a wonderful time in CA. Better than I could have hoped for. You would think after 2 1/2 weeks of living my parents I would have been ready to come home but that was not the case. Besides one disagreement with my mom we got along perfectly. Pete absolutely loved my parents and my parents just adored him. I think Pete smiled at them one thousand times while we were there. He loved seeing them, playing with them and doing things with them. Pete was amazing. He was happy and content the whole trip. He got on a schedule after about 4 days and settled right in to his new place and surroundings. As long as I could keep him to this schedule we could basically take him anywhere. My parents were incredible with him. They just fell in love with his personality and sweet demeanor. Pete is truly a blessing to all who meet him and get to know him. What a gift from God, a little angel.
I won't go into everything we did in those 2 1/2 weeks but I will say we had a lot of fun with everyone we saw and everything we did. Our time in CA went really fast and when I sit here in the house with just Pete I miss seeing my parents. But it was time to come home. By the start of the second week in CA I was missing P. very much. And he was missing us. Wish we could live closer to our friends and family in CA. It would be good for Pete, and for me.
As soon as Pete saw his dad at the airport he knew him. Pete gave P. big smiles and kept looking up at him and smiling and laying his head down on his shoulder. Brought tears to my eyes. Next time we will bring dad with us. :)
Here are a couple pictures from our trip. I know you have probably seen most of them already if you are on Facebook or I emailed them to you.
I feel bad. During this time when I was pregnant with Pete my blog was all about my pregnancy and Pete. It is still all about Pete. I don't want our second child to feel like a "second child". It's hard to even remember some days that I am pregnant I am so involved in Pete. My morning sickness is better. 17 weeks tomorrow. I tried to go off my meds in CA but quickly decided that was a terrible idea. The nausea came back and even today is a little worse than it was when I left for CA. But that's ok, I am eating well and feeling good. I am guessing I gained quite a bit of weight in CA considering we either ate out at all my favorite restaurants or mom was cooking a big dinner for us. Since getting home my meals have again consisted of a lot of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and bowls of cereal. But it's my birthday weekend and I plan to get some good food back in me. By good food I mean bad food! :) Back to the pregnancy......the baby is kicking. I can feel it and it is very exciting. P. can't feel it yet but I am guessing soon. In less than 3 weeks we get to have our ultrasound. I am so excited about that. Kristyn and I didn't get around to taking the drano test so I am completely unsure of what we are having. I can't wait to know. I have a doctor's appointment Monday so we will get to see how my weight is doing, check the heart rate and start talking about some tests that are coming up. I will update more next week. We haven't thought about names yet although we talked about the name Joanna at one point and usually we go back to the first name we think of. Names are so hard for me. Once we find out boy or girl we can really get down to business because you know me, it's not a quick decision, nothing is. Exciting though, in 3 weeks we will be half way through the pregnancy! Wow!
Sorry I have been slacking lately on my blog. I plan to get back in the groove now that we are home and settled in. We are all healthy, happy and ready for spring. Things happening for us this month....my birthday, doctor's appointment, P.'s bday, ultrasound, Katie comes home for spring break, and Pete's 1 year birthday on April 5th. Fun times ahead. Stay tuned. (Gotta go pay attention to Ellen, Jason Mesnik is trying to make excuses for his stupidness!)
