Our Week

Some stuff and pics from this week so far.

Let's see. To make a long story short.....

Last week I joined a new MOPS group. Very excited about that. But Jamie brought a cold home from the MOPPETS childcare and shared it with Pete and I. So.......good=MOPS, bad=sick. And we are still sick. Again.

Friday, dad and Pete went on the Scorpion Hunt. Jamie and I stayed home because we were sick.

Saturday dad and Pete made a race car at Lowe's. Pete was so proud of it and said he made it for me. It's awesome. No pic, sorry. Saturday Pete got sick. Picture of Jamie sitting in the sink while Pete was making a race car at Lowe's.
We spent the rest of the whole weekend in the house. But that was good, we needed to get some stuff done.

And so we have stayed home pretty much all week. This is the second day in a row we haven't left the house. But we do plan to go get some dinner at Jason's Deli tonight. Have you guys tried that place? Wow, yum.

Naked. Our kids love to be nakies. What kids don't right? Yes, I know they are sick but it was a warm day and there was no chance they would get cold. Bad mom, bad!

She got it off all by herself. Lovely. The diaper and pants were even easier for her.

Hiking

The original plan was for P. and Pete to go hiking on Sunday afternoon. I wanted to run some errands so we decided we would all go hiking and run the errands together afterward. Let's just say we should have kept to the original plan. Pete was like a kid in a candy store. He took to the trails and never looked back. He wanted to go higher, farther, faster, find new trails and climb up rocks. Jamie on the other hand was a disaster. When she wanted to walk she would usually fall. And when she did walk she stopped and investigated every dog and horse poop along the way. Or she would walk circles around low bushes. If she wasn't walking she wanted to be carried. But if we were carrying her she didn't want to be carried. We made it like 100 ft in the first 10 minutes because of Jamie.

So, next time I think I will leave the hiking to one of us and Pete and give Jamie another year to figure it all out.

Scorpion Hunt

There was a Scorpion Hunt at the lake last Friday night and P. took Pete up there for the evening. Supposedly the guide hides a bunch of fake scorpions along the trail for the kids to find with their flashlights. I sent along warm clothes, flashlights, snacks and the camera and my boys drove off together laughing and talking about how they would "see me in the morning". They had a blast! They had lots of fun stories to tell me about the actual real scorpion they saw and how the guide gave him a black light flashlight because scorpions glow in black light. P. said it was a night to remember and I am so glad my boys got some "boy time" together without us girls bugging them.
